Unity Candle Holders

The unity candle ceremony uses two taper candles with a large pillar candle (called the "unity candle") in the center.
At the beginning of the wedding ceremony, a representative from each family light the two taper candles.
Later in the ceremony, the bride and groom use the two taper candles ...to light the large pillar (unity) candle together.

The candles for this one are: 3 inch pillar and standard 7/8 inch tapers.

I have been having a lot of fun learning a new technique.  I am happy to announce I will soon be listing these vessels on my Etsy shop!!  Here are just a few of many more to come!!

This new line of Wooden Home Decor will feature vessels and bowls.  They can be used in and around a lot of areas of the home and are also food grade.  Meaning you could use the bowls for candy dishes to  potpourri dishes.  Or just admire their beauty beside the fire!!

This Mountain Laurel Timber Candle Holder is made from fallen old growth laurel in an area on our land that has been untouched for many years.  Every time I look at the wood it brings me back to that beautiful, peaceful area on the mountain hill top.

Handcrafted Three Tier Eastern Red Cedar Candle Holder

Handcrafted Eastern Red Cedar Candle Holder

I began to realize that there were multitudes of things I could make from this aromatic beautiful wood called Eastern Red Cedar.  The Eastern Red Cedar has this beautiful red heart, and it grows within as the tree grows older.

I wanted to do something with all the fallen trees that were lying around instead of burning them.  So from that point on, I have been turning the ways of mother nature  into ecologically sound all natural handcrafted household items.  I make candle holders, soap dishes, baskets, bowls, utensils, buttons for Vickie's creative side, and a lot more to come I am sure.

Pictured above is one of the candle holders I have made.  We took it a step further and started making making pure beeswax candles.  They are pictured with the candle holder.  We like to leave the candles unscented, because the beeswax in and of itself has this slight aroma of honey when it's burning.
